Polyboot

Was stranded at work last night just because of one damn virus - polyboot. The virus sounds like some cute harmless pokemon but I was wondering what the fuck happened. The damn virus hides itself in the boot sector of the hard disk and prevents the hard disk from booting up. Did a long 3 pointer shot with the hard disk. That should have killed it. Almost smashed up the second brand new replacement hard disk after it failed to boot up after several times of formatting.

Was out of my wits already and finally, the technical sifu here finished watching an episode of Simpsons. Asked him, or rather, begged him for help. Did a virus scan on it and results showed the fucking virus. Never did it cross my mind that it'd be a virus attack.

Did a boot up to DOS and performed:

C:\>fdisk /mbr

One minute. And the problem was solved.

I spent one fucking day working on it.

Fuck the polyboot virus.
