Starting to get a little sick of the street food already. Well, guess for myself, I really need variety. Starting to miss nasi lemak, roti canai and my own barbecued burgers already. Damn, I also miss the stir fries and chinese dishes back home. FUCK! Mamak food! How could I leave out mamak food! KNNCCB! FISH HEAD CURRY!! SAMBAL!! ARRRRGHHHH!!!
Ahem.
Strayed away a little from the topic.
So...
Decided to have a proper meal the other day instead of the usual street food. Met up with some friends at BTS Siam station, and it was just somewhere down there (gee...that's really helpful). Name of the place was Som Tam.
According to Choi, the queue today wasn't bad at all. Must have been the heavy rain. The restaurant was patronized by a lot of locals, which indicates that the food should at least be of some kind of standard.
The place also boasts of awards and newspaper and magazine articles.
They took our orders while queuing so that we could eat as soon as there we got our table. The food price was pretty reasonable too.
Price list (that is if you can make it out from the small pic)
A view of Som Tam restaurant.
Some noodles with chicken floss. Weird combination, but the taste was pretty good surprisingly.
Pork neck meat, if I'm not mistaken. They did the ordering.
Gluttonous rice served in a cute basket.
Should have ordered more of this. We were still hungry at the end of dinner.
Som Tam.
Some fried chicken.
Some meat and fishball soup. I really enjoyed this one.
The aftermath.
Well, for those dishes, we paid about 600 Bath, which was pretty alright considering how the food taste. The portion here is a little small, so it's alright to order a couple more dishes.
Now, I'm hungry again. Off to cook some instant noodles.
