Day 3.
Woke up early today for a half day trip to Ayutthaya, an ancient capital of Thailand. I will just let the pictures do the talking in this post.
"Yay! Road trip!"
Ah, I knew I wasn't the only one with such eyes.
First stop, Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol, place of the Sleeping Buddha.
Buddha: Sigh. How to sleep with all these people posing here...
Buddha: No eye see ...
The stairs leading up there is higher than it seems.
Joy still being excited and enthusiastic. Poor gal only realized how high the place was when we got on top. Had to slowly crawl down due to fear of heights.
Mmmmmm roast duck...
Yea, the weather that day was burning and we climbed many flights of stairs.
Some ants nest on some flowers.
More ants.
Awwww dumbo.
Awwwwwwwwwww dumbo (yea, running out of things to say)
Dumbo: You touch, you pay!
Group pic of the guys.
Next stop, was the famous Buddha in the tree area.
Well, they say that the Buddha will slowly emerge as the tree grows. Was here 3 years ago, and guess the tree hasn't grow as much.
This place still amazes me with all its ancient ruins and statues. A mark of how a great civilization can just crumble to the ground.
Ancient crap.
It started off with this picture. Then we were trying to get a nice 'in air' picture, but with the (serious) lack of sync, the pics didn't quite had the effect we expected. Yea, check out the person in green pants and checkered shirt (Yea, I mean you Lala Liaw!)
Tsk tsk tsk. What mean ... what mean ...
Sigh ...
Shakes head ...
LOL.
ROFL. Face the camera lah!
Background stranger: Whoa. Let's get out of here.
Lucky this one not you screwing up.
Yea, this is how it's done.
Jumping can be pretty exhausting. Managed to grab a nap on the ride back.
Last night in Bangkok, and we spent it in Khao San road. Stayed here the last time, and they simply have everything here. Food, bars, massage parlors, clothing, you name it. A colleague who has been around (close to a year) says that the travel agents here are the cheapest around. Haven't engaged any travel agents here so far, so I will take his word for it.
A toast to the last night in Bangkok (I didn't know that I'd be stationed here for 2 more months the following week.)
End of day 3.

Day 4.
It was time to leave. All good things must come to an end.
"It's all your fault we can't stay longer, bitch!"
"I don't wanna go home..."
"Now, I can finally rest ..."
Bangkok, you just can't get enough of it.
