10K BC/ Kamikaze Girls

One man's meat is another man's poison.

"Its a really nice show. The suspense is good! Its a war movie! You must watch it!"

Those words kept playing in my mind throughout the whole movie. How could I be so naive to trust the words of a 20 year old. I was not moved at all throughout the whole movie. Not a tingle of excitement. Not a pinch of suspense. Shouting of cliches like "Unite and we shall win!", "I won't leave you! I'll come back!" and those kinda shit, sent shivers of boredom down my spine.

A more suitable poster for the movie.

Even writing this lame review pisses me off.

Verdict: Total waste of time.

On the other hand, I caught another movie later at home. At least something I enjoyed and at the comforts of my own room. Maybe I should just give up the cinema.

Kamikaze Girls.

A really colorful movie indeed. Its the kind of movie that exaggerates everything and simply full of crap. Definitely not for those guys who like to question the logic of a movie. Full of crap but absolutely hilarious.

The movie is basically about the meeting and friendship of two girls from two utterly different fashion culture, one a Lolita (doll like fashion with lots of frills, lace, petticoats, and head-dresses) and the other a Yankee (lets just say female bike gangster). Kamikaze Girls portrays a very colorful display of the pop-culture phenomenon and also other classic Japanese culture such as the yakuza, pachinko, biker gangs, etc.

A film of pure joy and delight.

10000 times better than 10000BC.

Yea, I'm still not over it.

Paintball

Swat

A nice firm grip on the marker somehow provided an assuring sense of security. The feeling of being armed somehow boosted one's ego and confidence; the feeling of eliminating everyone that stands in the way. Breathing went heavy the moment I put on the face mask. The small body vest was just there for formality, it hardly covered anything of me.

I tried recalling the strategy planned earlier. Move in pairs, look out for each others back and my team was supposed to flank left. Simple enough. How hard can following some fundamental battle plan be. It was gonna be a walk in the park.

We lined up at the starting point. Hostiles were already aiming their markers at us hoping to get a lucky shot. I could feel the sweat trickling down my back and my hand was shaking, and the shaking wasn't from hunger. Adrenaline was gushing through my veins. A natural high.

The countdown was initiated. I glanced a look at my partner, and she nodded acknowledging me. Stick as a team, flank left. The horns went off. The battle had begun. Everyone started shooting at god knows what. We sped to the first bunker.

Bullets (or rather paint pellets) showered the bunker that was covering us.

What was the battle plan again?

...

Fuck the plan.

Shoot anything that moves. Trust no one. It's the survival of the fittest. Partners will only drag you down. I went into berserk mode.

Soon enough, the battle was over. We obliterated all hostiles. My partner was long "dead" due to my treacherous actions. Well, sacrifices need to be made at times. It was all worthwhile. Still standing at the end of the battle was all that mattered.

After weeks of cock talk about paintball, finally arrived the day for the real thing. We gathered at TTSports Paintball Park in Subang on a wet Saturday morning. Despite the wet weather, the turnout was good totaling about 31 people. Divided into teams of 8, we battled each others round robin style.

Agent 067. Codename: Penguin.

Didn't suffer from any injuries or marks, but the damage of the pellets could be seen on other victims. Well, pain is good. Inflicting pain is even better. Keeps the excitement high at all times.

Lovebite
That's not a lovebite. He was raped.

Paintball is good. Count me in the next time.
